Rimjhim Halwa

I’m sure many of u have heard this name for the first time but this is a must try recipe for all the ones who love China grass halwa . It was really difficult to find a reference pic for this one . Have used one that looks slightly simmilar . Plz follow the recipe and not depend on the pic . We need a tray for this recipe not a bowl as shown in the pic

In a vessel heat 1 glass of water and put half packet of soaked China grass and cook till melted , add 4 tbsp sugar and red food colour and mix (you can add any colour)
In a tray spread a medium thick layer of crumbled vanilla sponge cake and slowly pour the red china grass mix we have made . Level with a spoon and put in fridge .for half hour
By that time heat 500 ml of milk and add half cup sugar , 100 gm mava or little milkmaid and pinch of saffron and Cook well for 5 min . In a separate vessel heat water and cook 1 packet China grass till well dissolved . Let cool slightly and mix the milk and the China grass . Let the mix come to room temperature .
By that time cut a plate full of your choice of fruits to cubes .. e.g. apple , banana , mango , strawberry and can also be made only with mango. And spread the fruits on the tray . (Your sponge and red layer should have set by now)

Now slowly put the milk n grass mix we made to form a thick layer . Keep back in the fridge for half hour.

In the mean time repeat the process we did in the start of making coloured grass halwa . This time with a different colour . Bring to room temperature and pour on the set white and fruit layer . Keep in fridge again for half hour . Top with whip cream and sliced nuts . Serve chilled.
