Prawns Biryani
In a grinder , grind together , 3 inch pc of coconut ( use 1 sachet of coconut milk powder if you dont have fresh ), 1.5 tbsp garlic paste , 2 tomatoes, 1 cup dahi , barista of 2 onions . Grind to a fine paste.
In a kadhai heat oil, put curry leaves and whole garam masala , let crackle and add the prepared paste. Saute little and add salt , 1 tsp red chilli powder , half tsp haldi powder , 1 tsp dhanya powder , half tsp zeera powder , 1 tsp garam masala powder ( I’ve used @shahi_garam.masala ) 1.5 tbsp @safoods_aisha sea food marinade ( you can use any brand biryani masla if you are not from india n cant buy sa foods ) . Saute really well and add 500 gms of prawns , cover and cook till done , lastly mix juice of half lime and some fried potato pcs ( we like potato in biryani , u can skip if u want) . Cook for 2 min and switch off heat.
Boil 2 cups of basmati rice with whole garam masala n strain and keep aside.
To layer put a thin layer of boiled rice in a vessel , followed by the prawn masala , sprinkle some barista chopped coriander n mint , and add the left over rice. Sprinkle some yellow and red colour, some more barista and coriander mint , few dollops of ghee , and put the vessel on a tava and cover n cook on high heat for 15 min and low heat (dum)for half hour. Serve hot with kachumbar.
