Khichda

I had posted my Haleem recipe long back which is made with broken wheat and slightly less spicy.
This recipe of khichda is a spicier version made with whole wheat.

soak 250 gms of wheat overnight ( take small grains if u get ) separately soak 1 fist each of tur dal, masoor dal , urad dal , moong dal , rice and channa dal. (If u want to make the same day u can soak for an hour in hot water)

In a pressure cooker heat oil add 1 tsp whole zeera and all other whole garam masala. Let crackle and add 2 chopped onions, salt and fry till golden , add 5 finely chopped tomatoes and 2.5 tbsp ginger paste , 2.5 tbsp garlic paste , 1 tsp green chilli paste ,and saute more . When tomatoes turn soft add 1 tsp haldi, 1 tbsp dhanya powder , 1 tsp zeera powder , 2 tsp garam masala powder , 1.5 tbsp red chilli powder . Add little chopped coriander and mint half cup of water and cover and saute till oil comes up . Add 1 kg of mutton and saute really well . Add 1 cup water and pressure cook the mutton till its done .

In a big vessel cover and cook the soaked wheat and dal with 2 litres of water , salt and half tsp haldi powder . Keep stirring in the middle so that it doesn’t stick. When the wheat and dals are well cooked use a hand blender to roughly grind the wheat and dal. (We just want to change the texture we don’t have to make it to a paste so blend carefully )
Now pour the cooked meat gravy to the wheat and cook more . Add lots of chopped coriander and mint , juice of 2 limes and barista of 2 onions. Cook really well add water if needed .

Serve hot with extra topping of coriander , mint, barista , lime juice and even some Salli wafer if u like šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹
