Hummus

As an Arabic/Lebanese food lover the first thing that comes to my mind is hummus. One of my fave dishes , you can have it as a diet food as a dip along with carrot cucumber or any veg or bread sticks . Or as a meal along with some pita bread . You can follow my iffa dajaj , lemon herb grilled chicken , or tazaj chicken Recipe to make a long with hummus and pita and some pickled veg and chillies as a full fledged  Arabic meal .
To make hummus …. soak 100 gms of chickpeas (Indian white choley) overnight. The next day drain all water and pressure cook the chickpeas with little water , salt and a pinch of baking soda . Precisely on high heat till first whistle and low heat for 7-8 mins. Drain the water and let the chickpeas cool.
In a grinder put the boiled chickpeas , 2 tbsp dahi , juice of half lime , salt , 1 tsp tahina paste (white til paste) 4-6 garlic cloves , 4-5 tbsp olive oil. Grind all to a smooth paste . Before serving remove in  a plate , spread it , drizzle some olive oil , decorate the sides by dipping a fork in some red chilli powder. And serve with some olives and grilled pita bread 😋
