Chicken / Mutton Kadi Chawal

In a vessel put 2 roughly chopped tomatoes( no oil at this stage , oil will be used in the end) , whole garam masala , salt , 1.5 tbsp ginger paste , 1.5 tbsp garlic paste , 1 tbsp green chilli paste . Switch on heat and saute well till tomatoes are soft . Add a little water and cover n cook for 5 mins . Add 1kg of chicken , 1 cup dahi and saute well on high heat. Cover and cook till chicken is tender.( make it kn pressure cooker if making in mutton or beef)
Meanwhile for kadhi masala blend together 4 tbsp kaju , 2tbsp 4magaz , 2 tbsp chana daliya ,  2 tbsp seeng , 1 tbsp whole dhanya , 1 tsp saunf , 1 tsp zeera , 2 elaichi , 1 star anise , 1 tej patta. To  a fine powder .
Grind half coconut with water and remove its milk .. or simply use 1 tetra pack of coconut milk , or dilute 4 tbsp coconut milk powder in 1 cup water.
Add the coconut milk and the kadi masala we have prepared. And cook  for 5-7 more mins .
Sprinkle some chopped coriander on top ( dont mix)
Take a small vessel n heat half cup of oil ( or more) add 6-8 cloves of garlic sliced , few curry leaves , 2 whole red chilli broken ,1 tbsp chopped onion and fry till golden. Switch off heat  and mix 1 tsp red chilli powder ( we like red tari , u can skip red chilli powder if u dont want red ) and pour on the gravy. Serve hot.
