Cheezy Chicken Braid
I just love baked dishes and this is one of my favorite . Ive braided it , you can make the same filling and stuff it in the form u like.
For the dough:- mix together 2 cups of maida , 1tbsp sugar,1 tbsp yeast , salt to taste , knead this with lukewarm water to a soft dough and apply some olive oil on top . Cover and keep aside to ferment for 2 hrs (don’t use very hot water or it will kill the yeast and dough will not ferment)
Boil 250 gms chicken with 2 tsp garlic paste 1 tsp ginger paste , and salt . Shread the chicken and keep the stock aside.
In a vessel heat 4 tbsp butter , and add 1 small chopped onion , 2-3 green chillies chopped green chillies and saute for a min.
Add 4 tbsp maida and saute . Add the chicken stock ( should be around 1 cup) and 1 cup milk, cook well till thick. Add 1 cup of boiled corn , and the shredded chicken , And around 100 gms of grated cheese , salt and 1 tsp white pepper powder . Cook till thick . Switch off heat and mix in lots of chopped coriander . Let cool.
Take half the dough and roll it into an oblong shape, with help of dry flour . Place the filling in the center and make cuts on all sides . Close the bread in criss cross braid method. Brush egg on top and sprinkle some kalonji and white til . Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees till golden ( takes aprox 20 mins)
Makes 2 big braids( or 4 small). Sufficient for 4 people.
