Chana Batata

This was the most asked for recipe since the past week. Its actually inspired by my aunt’s recipe who is also a gr8 chef mashallah. Chana batata is a must have in Ramadan. Do try this bohri style recipe.

Soak 250 gms of chana overnight , pressure cook with salt and 3-4 washed whole potatoes till done. Strain and keep the chana aside and peel and cut the potatoes into cubes and keep aside .

Heat oil in a kadhai add a pinch of zeera, few curry leaves , 3 chopped green chillies, 1 tsp garlic paste, and saute, add 2 tbsp chana aata and roast till nice smell comes , add 2 cups of water and bring to boil , add the boiled chana , 1 tsp saunf powder , 1 tsp garam masala powder , lots of chopped coriander and mint, 1 tsp chilli flakes , half tsp zeera powder , cover and cook well . Keep stirring in the middle, cook till little gravy is remaining, add the potatoes , add 2 tbsp imli pulp , a fist of barista , 1 onion chopped , 1 tomato chopped and more coriander and mint , mix well and switch off heat. Serve hot or at room temperature.
