Hyderabadi Style Seafood Mandi

Another dhamakedaar mandi recipe for u guys that should not be missed . Also this can be made with chicken .

Firstly make mandi masala – blend together 1.5tbsp whole Dhanya , 1.5tbsp zeera, 6-7 elaichi , 1 tbsp whole black pepper,2 tej patta ,4-5 laung,4-5 small sticks dalchini To powder and keep aside

For seafood marination in a grinder jug , blend together, salt ,1 tbsp mandi masala , 1 tbsp garlic paste , 1 tsp ginger paste , 2-3 green chilli ,1 tsp red chilli powder , juice of 2 lime , some chopped coriander, 1 tbsp Kasoori methi , 1 tbsp tandoori masala , 2 tbsp corn flour , 2 tbsp dahi and red colour . And blend to a fine paste
Apply this marinate on 1 kg fish and 1 kg prawns do coal dhungaar and let marinate for an hour .
Fry the seafood just before serving .

For rice – firstly fry a handful each of almond and kaju and remove . Then fry 2 sliced onions till golden and remove for garnish .
In the same oil put , 1 tsp whole black pepper ,3-4 elaichi , 3-4 laung , 2-3 stick dalchini broken , 2 tej patta , 2 small sliced onions and fry till golden . Then add 2 chicken stock cubes ( you can also make stock from chicken bones and put instead ) then add fresh paste of 8-10 cloves garlic , 3-4 slice ginger , 5-6green chilli .Then add the remaining mandi masala, salt and sauté well . Add 6 cups of water and bring to boil . Add 1 kg of soaked basmati rice and cover and cook till water dries . Put on dum . Then sprinkle v little red n yellow colour and keep on dum for few more mins . Then switch off heat and mix with light hands.

To assemble in a thaal put rice and garnish with chopped coriander, fried onions and nuts and three chutneys . Enjoyyyy u have to take rice on you plate and put little of all 3 of these chutneys and mix n eat . It will look messy but trust me the taste is just soooooooo good .

Tomato chutney – blend together 3 tomatoes , 2 green chilli , very little chopped coriander and salt to taste to a fine paste

Garlic chutney – this is basically garlic mayo which is the most loved by Hyderabadis along with mandi . First blend together 1 egg , 6-7 cloves of garlic , salt and 1 tsp vinegar to a fine paste . Then put 1 cup oil , little by little and keep grinding till u get a medium consistency mayo.

Tandoori chutney – Add little water to the leftover marinate from the fish and cook it well and use. (some places have green chutney also along with this)
