Dhaba Dal

A simple and delicious recipe you can enjoy with rice or tandoori roti.
In a bowl wash and soak, 1/4th cup each of toor dal , masoor dal and yellow moong dal.
Pressure cook the soaked dal with water and 1 tsp haldi powder . ( high heat till first whistle and low heat for 5 mins) you can blend it into a fine puree or just mash with a spoon ( l make both styles to create variation)
In a kadhai heat some oil and add half tsp zeera , 1 tbsp chopped garlic , 2 chopped green chillies ,1 finely chopped onion and fry till slight golden,  ad 2 finely chopped tomatoes and salt , cover and cook till soft . Add half tsp red chilli powder , 1 tsp dhanya powder, 1 tsp kasoori methi   ,1 tsp garam masala powder and some chopped coriander  . Cook for 5 min and add the cooked dal . Cook for another 5-7 mins , add a little water if needed.
In a pan heat some oil and butter , add half tsp zeera , 3-4 slit green chillies , 2-3 broken Kashmiri red chillies , 1 tbsp sliced garlic , half tsp hing , fry till golden ( switch of heat and mix 1 tsp red chilli powder, i add it sometimes and somtimes skip ) pour on top of the dal and serve hot.
